Motherland was inspired by the 2011 Singapore General Elections, and highlights how we internalise family values as children by dutifully listening to the constant messages passed down from our mothers. With maturity comes the need to express ourselves while bound by rules and question what has been taught, culminating in asserting our voice and taking an independent path to find ourselves.
